How to set up a Phantom wallet

Visit Phantom website and select your browser type. To add Phantom to your browser, follow the instructions in the appropriate extension store. Once installed, you'll see Phantom start in a new tab.

If you are a new Solana user, select "Create New Wallet".

Next, save the "Secret Recovery Phrase" in a safe and secure place, it is the only way to restore the wallet. Whoever has access to this phrase has access to your funds.

When you create a new Phantom Wallet, you will be given an initial phrase of 12 randomly generated words. These words can give you (or someone else!) access to your account to send transactions, add or remove funds from your account. Keep this passphrase in a safe place and never transmit it over the Internet. We recommend 1Password for its security.

By default, your Phantom Wallet will be on the Mainnet network. For the purposes of this manual, you will need to switch to Devnet by going to the "Settings" icon in the lower right corner, scrolling down to "Change Network" and selecting "Devnet".
